retreat reviews (continued)
The sun shone for the entire retreat. The day
was free to discover, the abundant landscapes, beaches and waterholes
in Cape Tribulation and the DaintreeForest. Each day ended with another
gathering around the long table for dinner, sometimes preceded by
a short meditation and discussion.
It was during Prue’s forest walk, organized by Karyn, that we
got to really inhabit the forest. Prue narrated the walk with stories
explaining the interconnectedness of this fascinating landscape. Glowing
green vitamin rich ants, jumping porcelain fruit, soaring cathedral
canopies, ancient flora, sacred trees, bugs that stink when touched,
these things animated our journey, introducing us to the complexity
of the forest and bringing it to life.'
